Wish I Was There...

o we are back from our wonderful trip to New York. It was so hard leaving and I didn't want to say goodbye as always. I just love the area and I'm missing it a lot since we have been gone. I must remember what Joanne told me the day before we left. "Don't be said because it's over, be happy because it happened." I think that is really encouraging. I seem to focus more on my sadness of having to leave and be away from the people that I love so much, rather than the beautiful fact that I was able to have an amazing trip full of blessings and fun times. I thought I would add some of the other pictures I took from this summer trip. Here they are!
Hawkin's House. Bennington, VT.

Bennington Pottery.
Moose!
Hendersen's Pizza! Yum!

 Robert Frost Stone HouseMuseum.
We had a really fun slumber party at Joanne's house!
We had chicken catetori. So delicious.
Their cat, Lasher on the porch.
coffee in the morning :)
And we spent the morning on the porch!
We took off to Ballston Spa, NY. for an adventure.
Lunch at the Whistling Kettle.
Joanne with her 'peach blossom white' tea.
All of us!
Tea from heaven! Angel's Dream...A heavenly maple sweetness, blackberry pungency, and a malty assam flavor.

Look at how adorable this Farmers Market sign is!! (sigh....)
Don't you just hate saying goodbye? This was so tough for all of us. We love Joanne!

We had to stop at Benson's before we left! Of course!
My new favorite that Kari recommended: black raspberry/coffe swirl with hot fudge!
Goodbye Albany! You will be missed. But I hope to see you in the Fall!

Upstate and Vermont Life.

Because of my grandma's wacko dial-up computer, I have been struggling to blog. It's more of a chore here, since it takes so long. Fortunately though, I am currently here at Joanne's house. Joanne is a long time friend of my mom's and we were invited to spend the night. It has been so much fun! We love Joanne dearly. I thought while I have the chance, I wanted to post some photos of this fun trip and catch you guys up!
First, and most importantly--Kari was a beautiful bride!!! No surprise there. The wedding was just breathtaking. I felt like I was in the midst of a magazine worthy wedding! Where's the Knot magazine people when you need them?! It was just so fun and so perfect. I am so excited for Mr. and Mrs. Higley!

Some pictures from our trip--
On Monday, we celebrated my mom's birthday by going to Joanne's house. She made a cheesecake and her husband, Billy made dinner for us. It was so fun! We enjoyed tea and time on the porch. What a blessing it is to have special friends and times like these.

Today: Scenic drive through Manchester and Shafsbury. Visited Robert Frost's stone house and stopped at Snow's Ice Cream on the way back home.

I Love New York!

I am so excited to finally be in New York. It is so lovely, as always!
We have only been here two days and we have had a blast doing such fun family things! When we got in yesterday, we stopped at Bella Napoli on the way home from the airport. We picked up our favorite treat ( fudge fancies) and added a few others to the mix. It is such an amazing bakery and those cookies are just the best!
My cousin Kari came to visit us and we ended up traveling to Saratoga for a fun outing. We picked up her beautiful wedding gown and explored the boutique. My sister even tried on some dresses and found the most gorgeous dress for her. Maybe it's the dress!
We talked and had a blast and found Kari some cute things at the mall. When we drove home, we stopped at The Ice Cream Mann for frozen custard. So good!! It was my first time trying this treat and it was delicious.
Later, we made center pieces for Kari's wedding this Saturday (!!!) and had such a fun time together. What a day to kick off the trip! So perfect.
Today was a low key day with a trip to Bennington, Vermont. To finish off we stopped at Benson's Dairy Bar and I enjoyed the black raspberry and coffee swirl with hot fudge. Props to Kari on that one! It was amazing!! And you wouldn't think that would go well together. For dinner--Zack's hot dogs! They were great. Pretty much, it's been a great trip with great people and great food...and it's only going to get even better!!!!
Me and Branyn in Bella Napoli Bakery.
More pictures to come!

Goodbye, July.

Can you believe it's August 1st today?! I know I can't. Our trip is now only 9 days away, and my cousin gets married on the 14th! I am so excited for this month.

I think today is going to be a special day! Happy August, guys!
